Developer Starlance Studios has recently launched a Kickstarter campaign for ZeroSpace, an upcoming cinematic RTS with an epic sci-fi story. The studio aims to raise a starting goal of $100,000 through the campaign.
Comprising a team of passionate individuals with a deep appreciation for Real-Time Strategy games, Starlance Studios brings together professionals and creators, and developers of Starcraft 2. Their collective objective is to revitalize and redefine the RTS genre through the development of ZeroSpace.
The story of ZeroSpace unfolds in the year 4050 within the Orion arm of the Milky Way galaxy. The game introduces players to a universe where diverse alien and human factions vie for dominance. The fragile peace, upheld by the inter-species Keeper Council, is on the brink due to a mysterious cosmic threat. As the human Prefect of the Protectorate, players are tasked with investigating these cosmic enigmas.
At its core, players in ZeroSpace will build a base, gather resources, train units, and research upgrades. Players can select from a pool of 14 distinctive heroes, each endowed with unique skills and gameplay styles that distinguish them from regular faction and mercenary units. As players gain experience, they can level up their faction by securing Control Towers, subsequently unlocking powerful support skills.
ZeroSpace also promises an engrossing narrative, with over 3 hours of interactive cinematics. As stretch goals, the game will also offer multiple game modes like Campaign, 1v1, 3v3, and Co-op, catering to different play preferences. The Campaign mode will bring an immersive experience, allowing players to embark on a galactic journey and traverse diverse planets aboard their upgradable mothership, guided by a choice-driven RPG system. As they navigate an expansive galaxy map, players will enhance their vessel, recruit heroes, and build deep relationships with their crew.
While an exact release date for ZeroSpace remains uncertain, the game is confirmed to be available soon on Steam.
