Level Infinite and TiMi Studio Group have officially announced the upcoming release of Delta Force, a reboot of the classic military shooter series. The announcement was accompanied by a new trailer, showcasing some gameplay footage from the pre-alpha version of the game.

Delta Force, originally developed by NovaLogic and released in 1998, was remarkable for being one of the first in the tactical shooter genre to introduce detailed 3D backgrounds, realistic depiction of open-world combat, large-scale multiplayer PvP, and a unique “alert” system for stealth gameplay, among others. Some of its features have also influenced several successful shooter franchises like Call of Duty.

TiMi Studio Group, a Tencent subsidiary, is notable for its adaptations of beloved franchises onto mobile platforms, such as Call of Duty Mobile and Pokemon Unite. As the developer for the Delta Force reboot, TiMi promises to bring back the experience offered by the 1998 series, while incorporating modern improvements in visuals, animations, and gameplay mechanics.

The recently released announcement trailer showcases the significant enhancements made to the Delta Force reboot. Notably, the graphics have been dramatically improved, boasting ultra-realistic visuals. The gameplay also looks promising, with dynamic sequences and mechanics that could rival latest first-person shooter games.

In an interview with IGN, Producer Shadow Guo delved into the extensive details of the Delta Force reboot. According to Guo, the overarching storyline was developed with realistic themes, employed real-life actors for character building, utilized photogrammetry for 3D world creation, captured tactical movements from military professionals, and sought guidance from former Special Forces personnel to ensure an authentic tone of resolute realism and professionalism within the military theme.

Guo further disclosed that the campaign mode draws inspiration from the film “Black Hawk Down,” allowing players to experience the authentic and thrilling battles from the movie. The large-scale player-versus-player multiplayer action will also make a comeback, keeping the essence of the original 1998 game.

While the exact release date remains undisclosed, Delta Force is confirmed to launch soon on various platforms, including PC, PlayStation, Xbox, iOS, and Android.
