Try Hard Guides was created by Shaun Savage and Christine Mielke in June 2021 and is owned by Temptalia LLC.

The intention behind Try Hard Guides is to provide its users with the best gaming news and guide based content on the internet. This means no superfluous information that you don’t need. We like to get right to the point and have you receiving the details you are looking for as soon as we can.

Finally, one of the most important aspects of the site will be the fostering of a welcoming community. We all know that things can get heated in discussions on the internet, so it is nice to have a place where you can express your opinion without being harassed. All comments that are received on Try Hard Guides go through a moderation process, which means anything that breaks the comment rules will be removed! This allows us to keep a positive community, where you can discuss things freely.

Why the name Try Hard Guides?

While the term “try hard” in gaming is looked as a negative, we would like to repurpose it as a positive. It shouldn’t be viewed as a bad thing to try hard at whatever you enjoy. If you want to be a success, win at whatever you do, or be the best then you need to be a try hard!

We also have felt like try hards when it comes to websites. We have been publishing content since 2006 and have found success in multiple industries. This has continued with Try Hard Guides, and we hope that it will continue on into the future.

Christine Mielke (Founder, Editor-in-Chief) lives in Arizona with her husband and fur-kid, Winston, aka “Winnie.” She is also the founder and editor-in-chief of Temptalia, a popular beauty blog that has been publishing since 2006.

She is a 2011 graduate of Santa Clara University’s JD/MBA program, after having graduated in 2007 from University of California, Irvine with B.A. in Economics and B.A. in Political Science.

She has been featured in publications like Google for Publishers, WWD, Nylon, and Allure.

Shaun Savage – Founder & Editor-in-chief

Shaun Savage is the founder and editor-in-chief of Try Hard Guides. He has been building websites for over 20 years and has had an interest in video gaming for even longer! He is a 2013 graduate of the Academy of Art University with an A.A. in Web Design and New Media. He has been able to successfully build websites by leveraging his expertise in search engine optimization and finding under-tapped niches. His ability to write comprehensive, understandable video game guides that are still search-engine friendly has made his websites quick to take off.

Shaun was the editor-in-chief and founder of both Hearthstone Top Decks and Pro Game Guides. Each of these sites were acquired by different companies and are still running to this day.

When he’s not grinding away on his website, he enjoys spending time with his wife and family, watching bad movies, and binge watching TV shows.

Mark Carpenter

Mark Carpenter is the Managing Editor at Try Hard Guides. With over five years of experience in games media, including almost three years as an Assigning Editor for Pro Game Guides, and before that a Staff Writer. His work has also been featured on platforms such as Metro UK and Game Rant, along with other smaller publications. He has been a devoted gamer since the days of Amiga, with a journey spanning roughly 31 years. Mark's future goals are to grow the Try Hard Guides network as much as possible while helping gamers everywhere with gaming guide content. When not immersed in gaming, Mark enjoys delving into the worlds of D&D (Dungeons & Dragons), strumming his guitar, and indulging in a good read. Tom Henderson is a FPS fanatic, social media guru, and a father. But when he's not building 5,000 piece lego sets (and standing on them), he's likely playing thing like Call of Duty, Battlefield and CS:GO.

Anthony Fertino

Anthony Fertino is a novelist and lifelong gamer, born and raised in Southern California. He's been a content writer for over 10 years, and studied film at SMC for 4 years. When he isn't playing shooters, RPGs, or indies, he's reading SFF novels and trying the latest tabletop games.

Erik Hodges

Erik Hodges is a hobby writer and a professional gamer, at least if you asked him. He has been writing fiction for over 12 years and gaming practically since birth, so he knows exactly what to nitpick when dissecting a game's story. When he isn't reviewing games, he's probably playing them.

Hayley Andrews

Hayley is a gamer, writer, and author with a background in Business. Hayley graduated with a dual degree in Business Management and Human Resource Management in Australia. She spent many years in business until she found her passion for creative writing and the gaming industry. When she’s not indulging in the latest anime, she can be found reading or playing video games.

Shemiah Ruina

Shemiah is a gaming niche writer and an Electronics Engineering graduate at the Technological University of the Philippines. She plays a lot of RPGs and FPS games. She also enjoys watching movies and anime.
