Kitbash Model Club, an upcoming RC model sim from Floating Origin Interactive, a new dev studio headed by the creator of the original Kerbal Space Program, has revealed a new multiplayer trailer.

The new trailer reveals that multiplayer mode will support up to 16 players, and also showcases the resulting chaos with fresh gameplay footage.

According to publisher Curve Games’ official page for Kitbash Model Club, it’s still expected to launch this year. However, a release date still hasn’t been confirmed. It will be available on PC via Steam, with no word on support for other platforms. You can watch today’s multiplayer trailer on the Curve Games YouTube channel:

Kerbal Space Program remains a classic sim, full of humor and creativity. It’s important to note that the sequel, which has ultimately continued to crash and burn despite a series of early patches, was made by another developer. Kerbal Space Program 2 also tried to add multiplayer, but it’s already looking like that feature will be a highlight in Kitbash Model Club rather than a hindrance.

Kitbash Model Club wisely keeps the gameplay loop relatively simple, exploring a straightforward premise with some inventive twists. Players are certainly ready to build vehicles to race around, given the recent launch of Hello Engineer and the continuing success of LEGO 2K Drive, the latter of which we reviewed.

However, the novelty of Kitbash Model Club’s models is terrific. Battling is going to play a large role in the game, and it should be neat to see how such a wide variety of vehicles and weapons will compete with each other. 16 players will also add up to quite a full lobby, which will allow players to make a lot of their own fun, like pitting two entire fleets against each other.
