Xbox has just announced a few key titles that will be added to the game pass library in the coming weeks, according to an official blog. These include the return of Firewatch on August 17th, The Texas Chain Saw Massacre arriving day one on August 18th, Sea of Stars as another day one release on August 29th, and Gris on September 5th, 2023. They will all be available on Cloud, Console, and PC.

Further, the blog confirms that Game Pass subscribers can get a discount on the Starfield Premium Edition Upgrade, which will let you play Starfield a few days early on September 1st. Here’s the promo image from today’s blog:

One of Game Pass’ central strengths, particularly compared to its competitors, is its day one releases. The sheer range and volume continue to impress.

The Texas Chain Saw Massacre is undoubtedly a highlight of the upcoming titles, and you can read our full review here. There are many comparable titles, and even Dead by Daylight is still going strong, regularly adding new content like the Alien crossover that’s arriving later this month.

However, The Texas Chain Saw Massacre t brings a lot of its own flavor to the genre and will even offer crossplay. With no risk involved for Game Pass subscribers, it’s certain to thrive on day one.

The indie attention is much appreciated, between the classic Gris and newcomer Sea of Stars. Gris remains one of the most beautiful and sophisticated games in any space, and Sea of Stars has managed to maintain buzz since it was delayed to this year. It’s a turn-based RPG that has a retro look, but doesn’t solely rely on that.

Firewatch has been absent for a bit, so fans who missed out might enjoy the chance to check out this story-driven indie that features down-to-earth performances and great scenery.
