Developer Rocksteady Studios has just posted a new tweet announcing that the classic Batman: Arkham trilogy will launch onto the Nintendo Switch on October 13th, 2023.

The trilogy includes Arkham Asylum, Arkham City, and Arkham Origins, all of which are considered action and stealth staples. They intelligently explore Batman lore, and driven by an impeccable performance from the iconic Kevin Conroy. Today’s announcement tweet for the Switch release was accompanied by special artwork, designed by Christian Ward:

The Batman: Arkham games originally launched years ago, but despite the introduction of other Batman titles, Rocksteady Studios’ trilogy continues to stand the test of time.

These games are absolutely certain to thrive on any platform, and certainly the Nintendo Switch, when players can take their Batman adventures on the go. It’s a surprise that this port waited so long, with so much potential, and fans are still clamoring for certain remasters.

The Arkham trilogy is filled with a wide cast of characters and is driven by some terrific narrative hooks. The action is also a real highlight, with a very smooth combat system that made Batman feel more punishing and agile than ever. It’s a very immersive experience, and hopefully the Switch controls will respond accordingly.

The art design successfully captured some very iconic environments as well, giving Gotham lots of personality. It would be a shame for these visuals to be reduced to a small screen during mobile play, but the general mechanics should keep the quality of life up to par. It’ll be crucial for any potential gameplay trailers to showcase just how the graphics will translate for the Switch.

Today’s news might partially make up for the recent delay of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, which Warner Bros. Games and developer Rocksteady Studios will now release in February 2024.
