Each new Assassin’s Creed game seeks to create a new mystery and conspiracies players must unravel to save the world. After many large open-world and loosely structured events, we now know Assassin’s Creed Mirage will see protagonist Basim taking on new threats that may even come from within his own organization.
In the ESRB rating for Assassin’s Creed Mirage, there is a description of the content that the board feels audiences should be aware of before purchasing. While it is essentially similar to past Assassin’s Creed games, it seems that Basim will have to take on a variety of different enemy factions, including the option to “kill soldiers, fellow assassins, and boss characters.”
While the assassins of past games have taken out Templars and other government figures seeking to hurt the populace, there has always been a solid loyalty to the Assassin’s Brotherhood. With their main goal being to keep the peace around the world, it will be interesting to see what motivated Basim to take out those who it’s presumed are his allies.
The Assassin Brotherhood has been pretty loyal to each other over the course of the series’ history, barring heated arguments and banishment. However, Assassin’s Creed III starts with players unknowingly taking out a range of notable assassins before the game turns the tables and informs the player that Haytham was a Templar the whole time.
With Assassin’s Creed going back to its original formula, players can likely expect more intense story moments that will play into the reason why Basim decides to go after his own kind. Players will be able to find out the story for themselves when the
