With titles like Immortality making a considerable splash amongst gamers, it makes sense that players might be more open to new FMV titles. The Isle Tide Hotel is an interactive mystery movie that will ask players to save their daughter from a mysterious cult as it celebrates its final night in the Isle Tide Hotel, with a new gameplay trailer giving a closer look at the title.

This new title from Wales Interactive looks to be similar in vibe to the uncanny valley feel of Twin Peaks and most Wes Anderson films. The trailer shows strong performances from a variety of actors and some of the exploration and clue-gathering gameplay. Players can also get a good look at some of the strange characters of the hotel, including a mysterious front desk clerk and the strange inhabitants.

The interactive movie has come a long way and this title looks to evolve on the standard formula by introducing new puzzles and collectibles often found in other games genres. This further integration between the live-action and game elements should help The Isle Tide Hotel, as other FMV games have usually just referred to simple playback or splitting choices that affect the story.

Wales Interactive boasts The Isle Tide Hotel as its biggest project yet, with the developer having several of these projects already released. Just like in previous games, players decisions will affect the course of the story and lead to one of the game’s seven endings.
