Recently, leaked images of a purported Starfield special edition Xbox controller have surfaced on the Chinese internet, sparking discussions about its authenticity. Although the legitimacy of the controller has not been confirmed, its high-quality appearance has led some to believe it could be a genuine product or an elaborate hoax.

The design of the alleged controller bears a striking resemblance to the official spaceship design from Starfield, even including the game’s logo on the battery compartment cover. This has led to speculation that the controller may be a special edition accessory or part of a limited edition Xbox Series S/X bundle set to launch with the game.

Starfield is the first new universe in 25 years from the renowned Bethesda Game Studios, the creators behind The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and Fallout 4. This next-generation role-playing game set among the stars offers players unparalleled freedom to create their characters and embark on an epic journey to uncover humanity’s greatest mystery.

Set in the year 2330, Starfield follows humanity as it ventures beyond our solar system, settling on new planets and living as a spacefaring civilization. Players will begin as a space miner and eventually join Constellation, the last group of space explorers seeking rare artifacts across the galaxy. Players will navigate the vast expanse of the Settled Systems in what is being touted as Bethesda Game Studios’ most ambitious game to date.

As the authenticity of the Starfield themed Xbox controller remains unconfirmed, gamers will have to wait for an official announcement or the game’s release to determine whether this special edition accessory will be available.

Starfield arrives exclusively on Xbox Series X|S and PC on September 6, 2023.
