The next launch from Bethesda is looking like it will be the biggest the developer has seen since Fallout 4, with Starfield officially going gold today ahead of its release on Sept. 6, 2023. The developer made the preload announcement alongside the game going gold, with Xbox players being able to pre-load the title tomorrow and Steam users having to wait until next week.
While the icon only shows the Xbox, the pre-load tomorrow also applies to those who’ve purchased the game on Windows PC through the Xbox App or the Windows Store. Some have speculated that the reason that the Xbox and Windows PC version launches tomorrow is because Microsoft can control the encrypted version of the game. Since everything from the developer to the hardware is internal, there could be less worry of leaks, but this is just speculation.
In this latest adventure from Bethesda, players will take on a new adventure across the biggest game world that the developer has ever created. Classic staples of the developer have been shown off in Starfield, with new ways to customize your characters’ personalities and their spaceship to make their trip through the universe their own.
The game is currently scheduled for release on Sept. 6, with Bethesda allowing players to pre-load and reserve space on their Xbox and Microsoft PCs tomorrow, with the Steam version pre-load becoming available on Aug. 30.
This is a developing story and more information will be added as it becomes available. Make sure to check back at Try Hard Guides for all the latest information about the pre-load for Starfield.
