BlitWorks Games has officially announced the upcoming release of Train Valley 2: Community Edition on several gaming consoles. On October 17th, Train Valley 2 will be heading to Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, and PS5. This train tycoon puzzle game, developed by Flazm, was originally released for PC via Steam in April 2019, followed by Epic Games Store launch in June 2022.
In Train Valley 2, players are tasked with managing a railroad company. In comparison with its predecessor, Train Valley 2 challenges players to drive their railroad company forward from the days of the Industrial Revolution into the future by meeting the needs of the valley’s cities and industries. The game centers around building railroad networks, managing traffic, upgrading locomotives, and ensuring seamless operations.
At its core, Train Valley 2 promises to deliver an engaging and addictive gameplay experience, combining puzzle micromanagement with tycoon elements. It boasts a huge selection of trains with 18 models of locomotives to unlock and more than 45 types of train cars.
Train Valley 2 further enhances the experience with its inclusion of a Level Editor, allowing players to create their own level using Steam Workshop or check out over 2500 levels generated by fellow players. The game also offers a Company Mode, in which players will be challenged to keep their trains running on schedule across 50 levels. Setting itself apart from its predecessor, Train Valley 2 features unique visuals, based on a minimalistic low-poly aesthetic.
Since its initial release, Train Valley 2 has received mostly positive reviews. Critics have praised its seemingly relaxing gameplay that gets challenging over time as players progress. Veteran players of the original Train Valley have also noted that this sequel steps up the complexity with the introduction of hills and valleys in the maps, providing new hurdles and strategic opportunities for players to overcome.
