D-Pad Studio has announced that Savant – Ascent REMIX, the remastered edition of the original 2013 platformer shoot ’em up game, is scheduled to launch on September 15, 2023, for Steam, GOG, and Epic Games Store. Versions for Mac, consoles, and mobile devices are also in the works, although they will be released at a later date.
Savant – Ascent REMIX takes players on an adrenaline-filled elevator ride through a robot-infested tower. The game introduces a unique twist on the twin-stick shooter genre, requiring players to jump or dash between two platforms to dodge incoming enemy attacks and position themselves for accurate shots. As players progress, they can collect power-ups to enhance their abilities, and they can also blast explosive magic attacks by charging their Power Meter.
Originally introduced as the ‘Anniversary Edition’ in March 2023, Savant – Ascent REMIX was developed to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the original Savant – Ascent game. This upgraded version boasts significant improvements and new features, including distinct challenges for each stage, new enemies, and formidable bosses.
Savant – Ascent REMIX caters to different playstyles, offering various modes for players. These include the laid-back Normal mode, the challenging Hardcore mode, and the intense Survival mode.
The Normal mode is designed for those who want a more relaxed experience, featuring checkpoints between stages and boss encounters, as well as the opportunity to collect extra lives as they ascend.
For those seeking a more challenging experience, Savant – Ascent REMIX’s Hardcore mode presents a tougher trial, requiring players to master the abilities at their disposal and complete all stages in a single attempt. This mode also eliminates checkpoints and extra lives.
In Savant – Ascent REMIX‘s Survival mode, players must face off against increasing waves of enemies and bosses, all while racing against the clock to survive as long as possible.
