In anticipation of the highly awaited release of Starfield, Bethesda Game Studios has unveiled fascinating details about the upcoming action role-playing game set among the stars. Today, an elaborate timeline describing the inception of the Starfield journey has been revealed on Bethesda’s website, offering a deeper look at what occurred before the main events set in the year 2330 A.D.
The timeline maps out significant events across eras before 2330 A.D., beginning in the year 2050 when humanity first set foot on Mars. Among other pivotal moments highlighted in the timeline are the establishment of the United Colonies in the year 2159 and the subsequent emergence of the Freestar Collective faction in 2189. These two dominant factions played as central figures in the Colony War, a significant conflict that shaped the game’s universe.
Another landmark moment was the establishment of Constellation, a group of space explorers, in 2275. The timeline culminates with the end of the Colony War in 2311, leading to an uneasy peace between the factions. The rest of the timeline revealed the notable characters who have joined the Constellation as well as the creation of a deep space scanner, called “The Eye.”
The Starfield game’s storyline is set two decades after the Colony War, casting players as members of the Constellation. Players will be able to fully customize their character and embark on an exciting journey through various planetary systems, offering the chance to land on more than 1,000 planets, along with an array of moons and space stations.
The comprehensive timeline enriches the narrative of Starfield, offering players a wealth of historical context to uncover as they explore the immersive open world within the Milky Way galaxy. As excitement continues to build, Bethesda is inviting fans to connect with the developers on the studios’ Discord channel for a Q&A session on August 16th at 1:00 PM ET, providing them an opportunity to learn even more about Starfield.
Startfield is scheduled to launch on September 6th for PC and Xbox Series X|S.
