In the latest update set to go live on May 23rd, Forza Horizon 5 is introducing an array of new features and modifications designed to enrich the immersive driving experience set against the dynamic landscapes of Mexico.

The centerpiece of this update revolves around the Photo Mode enhancements. It’s set to offer options for changing the time of day and weather, tilting the wheels, and providing guidelines along with portrait mode. It further allows the character to step out of the vehicle, engage in emotes, and leverage photo presets for a more personalized experience.

On the vehicle customization front, the update introduces 16 Bokykits tailored for Overlanding modifications. The affected models include a broad range of vehicles, from classic models such as the 1972 Chevrolet K-10 Custom and 1986 Ford F-150 XLT Lariat to contemporary variants like the 2022 GMC Hummer EV Pickup. Notably, this Hummer model, along with the 2022 CUPRA Tavascan, will feature the new Motor and Battery Swap feature.

The patch further streamlines the player interface, adding tags to mark new Bodykits and Rims rolled out with each update. EventLab is receiving two new prop packs – the “Photo” and “Oval Track,” aimed at enriching event creation. Additionally, the update includes 17 Pathfinder Accolades, 17 Photo Mode Accolades, a Series Accolade called “Explore The Horizon Collector,” a Pathfinder Player Badge, three Car Horns, and a CUPRA Racing Suit.

Post-May 23rd, from May 25th until June 22nd, players can engage with the “Explore The Horizon” Series Features. This brings in Pathfinder Challenges, four returning Danger Signs and Trailblazers each, and Animal Cut-out collectibles. The new “Flood, Sweat, and Gears” Showcase Remix titled “Splash of the Titans” also makes its entrance. As for cars, the game introduces six models new to Forza, including the 2022 CUPRA Formentor and the 2019 DeBerti Ford Super Duty F-250 Lariat “Transformer.”

The patch also introduces multiple bug fixes. Among general issues, it resolves problems with settings not saving after restarting, disappearing mouse cursors, and vibration halts after online session disconnections. The 2021 Lamborghini Huracàn STO and 2018 Italdesign Zerouno have received specific fixes. Improvements to boot-up time, performance, and stability also feature in the patch notes.

Forza Horizon 5’s multiplayer platform sees vital updates in this patch. It rectifies issues with weather management, where certain conditions weren’t consistent among players. In a note, Design Director Torben Ellert emphasizes their commitment to fairness in the competitive experience. The team has addressed the weather simulation concerns in collaboration with the Competitive Community, ensuring consistent conditions for all players.

Other multiplayer fixes include resolution of scoreboard issues in Playground Games, group formation post Horizon Tour event, and score reversion in Playground Games Team Flag Rush match due to player disconnection.
