So, you’ve been scavenging in Unturned and found some cool attachments but aren’t sure how to equip them? Well, I’ve been playing Unturned quite recently, so let me guide you through it. Here’s how to equip attachments in Unturned.
Unturned – How to Equip Attachments
To equip attachments in Unturned, assuming you have some in your inventory, of course. After a quick check to see that you do, first equip the weapon you want to be modified with attachments, no matter if it’s a “Maplestrike” or an “M1911 Colt”. This step is vital; without equipping the weapon, you can’t attach anything.

Now, depending on what platform you are playing it on, the button prompt varies, but the outcome is the same:
- If playing on PC, hold down T.
- If playing on Xbox, hold down X.
- If playing on PlayStation, hold down Square.
Upon pressing, the correct button opens a menu displaying available slots for your weapon, such as sight, tactical, grip, and so on, which will appear on the left side of your screen. On PC, you need to click on an empty slot, and your inventory will open, letting you select your desired attachment. On Xbox/PlayStation, you need to use the Dpad to cycle through the attachments you have.
Now you have your weapon equipped with attachments and hopefully even the odds against surviving against the undead in Unturned.

From my experience, not every attachment fits every weapon. For example, you can’t attach a 7x Scope to a Colt pistol—even though that’d be fun! To avoid disappointment, check the attachment’s description to see which weapons it’s compatible with.
How to Unequip Attachments in Unturned
If you choose the wrong attachment or find a better one, swapping is easy in Unturned. Simply repeat the steps above but click on the slot with an attachment. The attachment will then return to your inventory, allowing you to replace it with something new.
