Blasphemous was a hit when it released in September 2019, captivating players with its stunning pixelated art style and dark story brimming with lore and mystery. However, it was a wholly single-player experience. With the upcoming release of its sequel, many fans are wondering if The Game Kitchen has decided to incorporate multiplayer co-op into their haunting and beautifully rendered world. So, is Blasphemous 2 multiplayer co-op?

Will Blasphemous 2 be Multiplayer Co-Op?

The answer is no. Blasphemous 2, much like its predecessor, is strictly a single-player experience. The original game centered around the journey of The Penitent One through the twisted lands of Cvstodia. The sequel follows in these footsteps, with no plans for multiplayer integration in any capacity.

Will there ever be Multiplayer in Blasphemous 2?

The answer to this is both no and maybe. From an official view, there will never be multiplayer in Blasphemous 2, or in other words, The Game Kitchen will not add multiplayer to their game. But never say never when it comes to the power and creativity of the modding community. As I will tell you one thing, after using mods on many games in my three decades’ worth of gaming experience, their vision for what they want holds no bounds. They always go out of their way to create what they want, then share it for others to use.

For example, there’s a co-op mod for Blasphemous that allows players to sync into one game. And what’s even better is that it’s compatible with the randomizer to add an extra layer of fun into the equation.

For instance, a co-op mod for “Blasphemous” exists, allowing players to join a single game session together. You can see each other, fight bosses together, and even battle it out in PvP (Player Vs. Player), which will be a unique experience. What takes it to the next level is that the mod is compatible with another mod called a randomizer, which, as it sounds, randomizes elements of the game to make it a new experience. Playing this with a friend would be a joy to behold.

But ultimately, your only hope to get any form of multiplayer in Blasphemous 2 is from the hard work
of the modding community. The Game Kitchen will undoubtedly focus on the updates, patches, and potentially DLC.
