The cult-management rogue-like Cult of the Lamb surprised everyone last year with how cute and approachable it managed to be. After a year of dedicated support, adding new features, and balance patches, the developer Massive Monster has announced that the title will be getting some form of new content, with an announcement coming on Aug. 21.

In a brief animated teaser posted to Twitter, players can see the titular Lamb leader approaching some form of portal with black and white lines. The tease is only 17 seconds long and shows the lamb walking up to a strange swirling black-and-white portal that opens. Inside, a humanoid spider appears in front of the lamb before the screen goes black with a date of Aug. 21 showing.

It’s unclear what this could be, but it seems most likely that it could be a major update to the game considering it seems like the lamb is meeting a new character. Users in the reply to the teaser were quick to point out that the shadowy figure seems to resemble the spider monster from Don’t Starve. Paired with the “starving” introduction, some believe that it could be a new collaboration with the multiplayer game.

This could be something as simple as the introduction of a new villager to new content being added to the title based on the game. It could also be something completely unrelated, as this is all just speculation until we get the official announcement in just four days.
